Laboratory Services
DMA’s laboratory is a high complexity laboratory licensed by the State of Tennessee.
DMA is also accredited by COLA, a national healthcare accreditation organization. Accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey. This emphasis on quality manifests itself in reliable test results, an essential element in assuring excellence in patient care.
Our lab is not only dedicated to quality, but is also focused on enhancing the environment and experience of the blood testing process for our patients by offering drawing stations located throughout our clinic locations while providing a friendly atmosphere for family members.
All laboratory testing is performed by licensed laboratory personnel. Patient blood specimens are drawn by trained and experienced phlebotomists.
We offer a comprehensive test menu featuring state of the art automation and technology. With our large testing menu most lab tests are performed on site with an average annual testing volume in excess of 400,000 tests per year. Our Laboratory Information System stores all lab testing performed, to allow easy access by your physician. The lab LIS is also linked with DMA’s Electronic Medical Record System and PathGroup Laboratory, which DMA uses to complete any reference testing needed. We take pride in our ability to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the resulting process of patient specimens.

- HEMATOLOGY - Complete Blood Counts and Sed Rates.
- CHEMISTRY - Complete Metabolic Panels including Glucose, Electrolytes, Renal, Liver, Lipid, and Iron studies.
- SPECIAL CHEMISTRY - Microalbumin and Hgb A1C testing.
- THERAPEUTIC DRUG MONITORING – Digoxin and Dilantin
- IMMUNOCHEMISTRY- Complete thyroid panels to include Free T4 and TSH. Quantitative pregnancy testing, PSA – Free and Total, and Anemia Profiles to include Ferritin, Vitamin B12, and Folate.
- COAGULATION - Prothrombin times
- URINALYSIS - Analysis of urine specimens complete with Microscopic.
- SEROLOGY - Pregnancy testing, Flu, Strep, RSV, H. Pylori and Mono, and Occult Blood testing.
- MISCELLANEOUS - Post-Vasectomy checks, Semen Analysis, H. Pylori breath testing, pin-worm preps, collection of chain of custody drug screens, and Therapeutic Phlebotomy.
