Echocardiographer–PRN to Part-Time

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Ancillary Services, the Echocardiographer uses non-invasive cardiovascular technology equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions. The ideal candidate for this career has excellent communication skills in order to convey scientific information to doctors, as well as a good bedside manner for dealing with patients. Participates in a team environment to include open communication, trust, accountability and mutual respect.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum requirements include: Associates degree preferred, graduated from an accredited school and be registered. Knowledge of computers, generally ultrasound procedures, ability to work independently,must be organized and pay close attention to detail.. License, certification or registry required from the ARDMS or NSCT. Two years experience as an Echocardiographic technician or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Maintain current CPR or BCLS certification. Proficient in MS Office preferably in Excel and Word; ability to work with limited supervision; possess strong verbal communication skills, good organization skills and attention to detail.

PERFORM DEPARTMENT DUTIES IN A TIMELY AND EFFICIENT MANNER.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties include the following, but are not limited to)
- Preparing patients for diagnostic procedure
- Record results of procedure, scan and inspect resultant pictures to facilitate optimum diagnostic results; and provide reports to physician
- To perform duties for a variety of ultrasound (and echo) exams in accordance with company policies.
- Reviews cases with supervising physician to ensure accuracy of clinical data obtained.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspect of the job.
- Assists in maintenance of equipment to ensure proper function.
- Maintains supply inventory.
