Jean Alexander, M.D.

Allergy, Asthma and Sinus

Dr. Jean Alexander completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and Biochemistry from the University of California before entering medical school at Ohio State University College of Medicine. As a pathway to becoming a physician, she acquired a Master of Public Health (“M.P.H.”) degree from John Hopkins University while achieving her medical doctorate degree at Ohio State. Following her internship in Family Medicine, she entered into private practice for five years as a family practitioner. Dr. Alexander aspired to further her career goals by completing a residency in Internal Medicine and, subsequently, a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

As a specialist in allergy and immunology, Dr. Alexander has a thorough understanding of the management and treatment of allergies, asthma, sinus and other diseases affecting the immune system. Her training provides her the knowledge to diagnose autoimmune disease, hypersensitivities and immune deficiency disorders in patients of all ages.

Dr. Alexander holds professional memberships as a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, a member of the Tennessee Medical Association, American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, and American Public Health Association.

Dr. Alexander has been employed with Dickson Medical Associates, formerly Jackson Clinic, since 1994. She has served as a shareholder and member of the DMA Board of Directors since 2001.

Outside the work setting, Dr. Alexander enjoys traveling, physical fitness, and reading.
