Pathology

Dr. Venk Mani completed seven years of medical and research education, achieving his medical doctorate in India before pursuing his postgraduate training in the United States.  He chose to extend his medical career in the United States by completing a one year internship at Memorial Hospital in Albany, New York before achieving a two year residency in Anatomic Pathology at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. He completed an additional two year residency program in Clinical Pathology at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.

Dr. Mani’s extensive medical training qualified him to achieve board certifications by the American Board of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, American Board of Nuclear Medicine, Special Competence in Dermatopathology and an added qualification in Cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology.

As a specialist in pathology with over 40 years of experience in making diagnoses based on examining tissue samples, Dr. Mani’s work includes clinical pathology, oncologic pathology, gynecologic and cytopathology, dermatopathology, gastrointestional pathology, breast pathology and hematopathology.  Dr. Mani has continued to provide his services as the Medical Examiner (coroner) for Dickson County since his appointment by the County Mayor in 1997.

Professional memberships for Dr. Mani include the College of American Pathologists, American Medical Association and Tennessee Medical Association.  He has served as a charter member of the High Noon Rotary Club since 1987. He has held other distinctions of service as a Board of Trustee member of the Goodlark Regional Medical Center, The Jackson Foundation, and the Renaissance Center.

Dr. Mani’s tenure which began in 1983 with Jackson Clinic, and subsequently Dickson Medical Associates, spans three decades. He has served several terms as Treasurer of the physician medical group and has been a shareholder and member of the Board of Directors since 1986.  In addition, Dr. Mani has served many years as Director of Pathology and Laboratory Services at Goodlark Regional Medical Center and TriStar Horizon Medical Center.

Dr. Mani is married to the lovely Usha Mani and they have three beautiful daughters who are pursuing their own careers.
