Primary Care

Primary care physicians serve as your personal doctor and provide care for all of your basic health care needs including preventive care. Your primary care physician also coordinates care with specialists when you need specialty care. Many DMA patients develop strong, long-lasting relationships with their primary care physicians.

Types of Primary Care Physicians
Primary care physicians include those in:
Family Medicine
Internal Medicine

Both Internal Medicine and Family Medicine physicians treat adults and perform preventive care screenings. Internal Medicine physicians concentrate their training in preventive care and diseases that affect adults. Family Medicine physician training covers the treatment of people throughout their entire lifetime, from infancy to the senior years. Pediatricians concentrate their training on the care of infants and children.
