Allergy, Asthma and Sinus Providers

An allergist-immunologist is a physician specially trained in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of immune system problems such as allergies, asthma, and immunodeficiency diseases. One of the main goals of allergy care is to identify when possible the allergen or exposures that trigger symptoms in allergic disorders.

Allergic reactions occur to environmental substances known as allergens. Common allergic reactions include eczema, hives, hay fever, asthma, food allergies, and reactions to stinging insects. Immunology covers all aspects of the immune system in both health and disease including autoimmune diseases, hypersensitivities, and immune deficiency.

The Allergy and Immunology Department performs allergy skin testing and allergy antigen shots.
