Summary
The coding specialist performs highly technical and specialized functions at Dickson Medical Associates. The employee reviews analyzes, and codes diagnostic and procedural information that supports Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance reimbursement. The primary function of this position is to perform ICD 10 CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding for reimbursement for various medical specialties within the organization. Under the direction of the Imaging Department Supervisor, the receptionist is responsible for incoming telephone calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner and greeting/assisting visitors in the same manner, entering & updating patient demographics, verifying insurance information, registering patients, scheduling appointments, front end cash collections consisting of co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, payment on accounts and self pay, daily deposits, balancing paperwork at end of day, and other duties as assigned; Participates in a team environment to include open communication, trust, accountability and mutual respect.
